Sin Chew Daily reported that more and more students in China have tested positive for COVID-19 as schools reopen.

It is learnt that these students are mostly from the Hubei province, where some believed is where the deadly virus comes from.

A third year senior high school student in Hubei had tested positive on Friday (May 8) but it is reported that for the last 14 days before he was infected, he had not been traveling, in contact with COVID-19 patients or taken any public transport. He even wears face masks whenever he was outside.

According to Sin Chew Daily, among all these cases, many of them are asymptomatic. This shows just how important swab test it before opening the school again.

Local authorities in different China cities have taken approaches to prepare for the school reopening. This includes requiring the schools to set infrared IR sensor, the students to wash their hands before entering school compounds, student desks to be placed in a distance of 1 meter and prohibition of student activities in or outside the schools.

Now this brings back the question: when will school reopen in Malaysia? Even when the situation is ‘back to normal’, with so many ‘new norms’ to be followed, is Malaysia really ready for this? What do you think? Let us know in the comment!
