Yes you read right, there may be a White Chicks 2 in the works!

After 21 years, a White Chicks sequel could finally be in the works. Marlon Wayans recently hinted that White Chicks 2 might be next if his upcoming film, Scary Movie 6, is a success.

Speaking on Good Morning America, Wayans acknowledged how much fans still love the 2004 comedy. “People always ask, When are you doing the sequel? They love that movie”, he said. “I think it’s time. Let’s get Scary Movie 6 done, and then well bring out White Chicks 2.”

Wayans and his brothers created the Scary Movie franchise but left after the second film. Now, with their return for Scary Movie 6, there’s a chance for other Wayans classics like White Chicks to make a comeback.

Though White Chicks got mixed reviews when it was first released, it later became a cult favorite. The film follows two Black FBI agents (played by Marlon and Shawn Wayans) who disguise themselves as white heiresses to stop a kidnapping. However, in today’s climate, the films use of “whiteface” could spark controversy.

Rumors of a sequel have come and gone for years. In 2019, actor Terry Crews claimed White Chicks 2 was happening, but Wayans later denied it. Still, he believes the movie could work today, pointing out that the people it parodied—white women—loved it the most.

So, will White Chicks 2 finally happen? Nothing is confirmed yet, but if Scary Movie 6 does well, fans might finally get the sequel they’ve been waiting for.
