Have you ever realized how much sound impacts your brain? Well, you may not have thought about it, but Netflix certainly did.

The "Tudum" that you hear before any show on the platform begins, did you know that, that's not random? It was in fact engineered, to trigger emotion.

Netflix actually worked with a sound engineer to make a jingle that felt bold, familiar and you guessed it... addictive!

They started with experimenting door slams, clock ticks and even animal growls, in search for the perfect sound of suspense.

Based on psychology, sound is a sense that surpasses logic. Instead, it's one that hits memory and mood, almost instantaneously.

Yes "Tudum" is a jingle, but it's also a neural cue. One that silently screams 'Get ready'.

That split second before your show or movie starts, it functions to boost pleasure, which directly boost bingeing, and eventually lays the groundwork for brand loyalty.

Every time you hear it, your brain builds a habit, coaxing you to repeat the action.

Cool right?

So here's a pro-tip, if you intend on building a brand, then your best bet is to build with sound.  Emotion beats design anyday.
