A TikTok video by user @nikamirs has gone viral after a man named Nik Amir shared his frustrating experience with a portion of ayam gunting (scissor-cut fried chicken) he purchased only to be met with disappointment.
In the video, Nik and his female friend expressed their disbelief upon discovering that the meat inside the deep-fried flour coating was far from what they had expected. Instead of a generous piece of chicken, they were met with a tiny sliver barely visible beneath the thick batter.

"Got scammed early in the morning," Nik wrote in the caption.
Nik said he only realised the situation after taking a few bites. He went on to joke that the mini ayam gunting was the "biggest betrayal" he had faced since encountering curry puffs filled with nothing but air.
"Maybe they meant its chicken that was accidentally cut (ayam 'ter' gunting), that's why its so small," he quipped sarcastically.
Nik also pointed out that the vendor did not even use the standard batter typically associated with the street snack. Instead, he claimed that a slice of bread had been coated with flour to give the illusion of a larger piece of chicken.
Despite his disappointment, Nik chose not to disclose the identity of the vendor. He said he felt sympathy and didn't want to jeopardise someone's livelihood.
What stood out in the video was the reaction of his friend, who could only sit in silence, staring at the disappointing meal in front of her, the chicken visibly smaller than its outer coating.
The video quickly drew attention from netizens, many of whom expressed their own shock and amusement in the comments. Several users also shared similar experiences, recalling their own letdowns with street food that didn't live up to expectations
The clip has since sparked discussions on food quality and transparency among street vendors, especially in a time when many are becoming more conscious of what they pay for.
