A building can be just a structure with a roof and walls placed on a singular place permanently. Apart from serving the community needs a building can represent the history of a certain place and withhold the beauty that the land holds. Building in the olden says has gone from being plain to an objects or canvasses of much artistic expression.


However some of this structures did not give any beneficiary to the society after some time, resulting in the building being abandoned. However they still leave a certain feel of energy towards it.


Each of this building has left it's unique charm that stands out on its own. Underneath all the dust, rust and cracks, there is a story to be told about the families that used to make a living there who lived their life and prayed, where laughter was heard and tears were sheds. Put yourself in their shoes and the challenged they faced, each envision you feel gets an extraordinary air of wistfulness and atmosphere about sentimentality. It’s as if the people in these places just picked up and left.


Here are some historic abandoned places set around the world.


1. Beelitz Military Hospital - Germany


This building was built in the late 19th century to help offer assistance restore the developing number of tuberculosis patients in the growing city of Berlin. 

It was turned into a military hospital during the Great War, Beelitz-Heilstätten - or Beelitz Sanatorium where a young Adolf Hitler was treated for an injury during the Battle of the Somme.


It is now decorated with rusty beds, vine-covered buildings and haunting corridor with white plain wall hidden by graffiti and peeled of paint are what remains after it was uninhibited in the fall of East Germany.

2) Sanzhi Pod Houses – Taiwan

 

What once was a seaside holiday resort is now a ‘haunted’ ghost village.

Sanzhi Pod Houses also known as the Sanzhi UFO Houses were constructed in 1978 but unfortunately has fallen in 1980. It is now an incomplete pod-shaped building in New Taipei, Taiwan. The site has become the center of sinister conspiracy theories and shot to infamy as a dark tourism attraction.


It was warned to be cursed during the beginning of the construction. It was cursed in terms of the wake of a pate deaths, including mysterious suicides and car crashes. A Dutch graveyard lies beneath the site and construction workers claimed they were haunted by ghosts which lead to locals believing the resort was haunted by a paranormal ornament of a dragon destroyed during construction.


The abandonment of the setting has resulted in financial losses and the factor of tragic deaths of employees contributed to the Pod House’s haunted reputation. The dream of a seaside vacation Pod houses never came to be reality leading to the demolition of the houses in 2008

3) Maunsell Sea Forts – England


To help the defense of the UK and to deter the German air rais, Maunsell Sea Forts were built in Themes and Mersey during the World War 2. 

It was constructed seven miles off coast of Whitstable, Kent joined above sealine by steel platform decks which helped gunners shoot down respective opposition aircraft. 


The set up was then utilize after the 1950s for other activity such as pirate radio broadcasting. Unfortunately it was demolished by the Royal Engineers in 1967 due to prevention of further broadcasting since it was considered hazardous for any action.

4) The Pontiac Silverdome, Michigan


This building held very memorable events as it became the host for some of world-class acts and sporting events such as hosted the Super Bowl, a pope, the NBA finals, Led Zeppelin, Elvis, WrestleMania and dozens others.


Then everything changed when the Detroit Lions relocated to Ford Field in Detroit in 2002 which caused the Silverdome that was once home to the Detroit Lions to fall into despair.


The stadium is now left looking eerie and now blanketed in green moss as if it was left neglected for 20 years or more

Although the public tried to make benefits of it by holding events such as monster truck rallies, boxing matches and as a drive-in theatre. Nevertheless those Silverdome need needed a questionable destiny since.

5) Kolmanskop, Namibia


Kolamnskop was a small settlement born in the early 1900s as German discovered the area was rich in diamonds.It was once a home of hundreds of German families to try and make their fortune out of it. The surge from claiming the riches existence gave out after World War 1 when the quantity of diamonds began to diminish.


But nearly 100 a long time after Kolmanskop crested as a flourishing and bustling desert garden, it is presently a decrepit phantom town gradually being recovered by the sand. Tourists presently run to the range to see the formally amazing German houses continuously sink into leave.

Nothing is more beautiful and mesmerizing than once was a magnificent building that has now been deserted. While a few forsaken building are well taken care of and protected, there are a few that totally rundown with their unique appearance totally misplaced. Although, in some cases some of this building is claimed by the ever powerful nature
