Food Rider Shares Hurtful Experience With Rude Customer After Misleading Delivery Pin And Verbal Insult

A food delivery rider recently posted a video on TikTok to share his unpleasant encounter with a customer who allegedly acted in a rude and disrespectful manner. Posting under the username @awieeeen, the rider detailed the situation that left him feeling hurt, not because of the physical demands of the job, but because of the lack of basic courtesy.


According to The Rakyat Post, the rider explained that he had initially headed to a pinned location, assuming it was at the DPulze shopping mall. However, upon arrival, he discovered the pin was placed in the middle of the road.


After contacting the customer to clarify the actual delivery address, the rider was informed that the correct location was nearly 4 kilometers away from the original pin. Despite the inconvenience, he continued with the delivery without hesitation.


As he neared the customer's residential block, the rider called again to ask for directions to the staircase. The customer responded that he would come downstairs to collect the food. But just as the call was ending, the rider overheard the customer using a curse word.


"When I was about to hand over the food, I asked him... did you just say 'damn' to me earlier? Maybe he thought I didn't want to go upstairs," the rider said.

Although the rider remained calm and didn't lash out, he admitted to feeling hurt by the customer's behavior, especially since there was no apology or even an explanation. To make matters worse, the customer simply took the food and walked away without offering a thank you.


The TikTok post sparked a wave of reactions in the comments section, with many netizens expressing their disappointment over how the rider was treated. Numerous commenters called out the customer for lacking basic manners and failing to show appreciation for someone who went out of their way to complete the delivery.


Others chimed in with their own experiences, revealing that they too had been insulted or treated like "servants" while making deliveries to customers.


This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of treating all workers with dignity and respect, no matter the job or circumstance. A simple thank you can go a long way.
