Recently, a clip from Running Man episode 770 went viral, showing members Haha, Ji-Hyo, Se-chan, Daniel, and Ye-eun attempting a unique mission with foreign tourists.
The mission required the cast to play a word game with any tourists they came across. One member would say a word chosen by the production team, and the tourist had to continue with another word starting with the final syllable of the given word. The twist? They were not allowed to explain the mission and could only communicate in Korean.
For this round, the word given was "Gangnam." This meant that the tourist needed to respond with a word beginning with "Nam."
In the clip, the Running Man members unexpectedly encountered two Malaysian tourists, one of whom was introduced as Amirah.
The pair were initially shocked and excited, even "fangirling", when they realized they had come face-to-face with the Korean celebrities, especially Ji-Hyo. Seizing the opportunity, the Running Man members quickly roped them into the mission.
Despite the language barrier, Ji-Hyo relied only on her gaze and the word Gangnam, hoping the tourists would catch on. To everyone's surprise, Amirah's friend confidently replied with Namdaemun, a perfect continuation of the word. Though hesitant at first, the Malaysians successfully completed the task.
The cast and the tourists erupted in cheers, visibly stunned that the mission had been cleared so quickly and flawlessly. Haha even showed his goosebumps in disbelief at the correct answer.
Se-chan later asked how they thought of Namdaemun. Amirah's friend explained that both Gangnam and Namdaemun were part of their travel itinerary in Korea.
For Running Man fans, simply meeting the beloved cast would have been a dream come true, but being part of the mission made the experience even more special.
"One of the most random moments of our holiday. But my brain was really loading because I was still processing whether Song Ji-Hyo was really standing in front of me. And now, we've brought Malaysia's name into Running Man," said Amirah.
The viral clip sparked excitement among viewers, with many praising the Malaysian duo for their quick thinking. Some expressed disbelief that the tourists managed to give the exact answer needed, while others were thrilled to see fellow Malaysians featured on the show.
For Amirah and her friend, what started as an ordinary holiday moment turned into an unforgettable memory, one that etched their names into the long-running legacy of Running Man.
