A recent study by Seeking Arrangement, as reported by Seasia.stats, has placed Malaysia third in Asia for the highest number of sugar daddies, with an estimated 32,500 individuals involved in such relationships. The country shares this ranking with Japan, which recorded the same number.

India leads the list with a staggering 338,000 sugar daddies, followed by Indonesia in second place with 60,250. Other countries in the top 10 include Hong Kong (28,600) and Taiwan (27,300), while Cambodia ranks the lowest with just 3,500.

The concept of a "sugar daddy" refers to an older, financially stable individual who provides financial support, gifts, or experiences to a younger companion in exchange for companionship or a mutually agreed arrangement.

The study's findings stirred conversations online, with many netizens reacting humorously. One user, Muhyiddin Hashin, joked, "For Malaysia, I think you swapped with daddies with high sugar (diabetic) statistics." Meanwhile, Masita Hassan quipped, "I mistakenly read countries with the highest sugar intake."

Others expressed curiosity over the absence of countries like the Philippines and Thailand from the rankings, given the prevalence of similar arrangements in those regions.

The report highlights the growing presence of sugar daddy relationships across Asia, sparking discussions on shifting social dynamics and financial dependencies in modern relationships.
