According to the Star, the policeman, known as Mohd Masri Maguni, was attached to the Kepala Batas police station. He was assigned to work at a roadblock at Alor Setar required by the MCO.
Unfortunately, the police corporal couldn't make it as he passed away at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital yesterday morning at 5.20 am, despite being admitted 3 days ago.
As explained by Kota Setar OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rozi Jidin, the 58-year-old police corporal unexpectedly collapsed on Saturday (21 March) when he was on duty at a roadblock in Alor Setar and was quickly rushed to the hospital.

"He died due to high blood pressure," said ACP Mohd Rozi.

As for whether the deceased had contracted the COVID-19 disease, ACP Mohd Rozi denied all such claims.
The president of UMNO, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, offered his condolences to the family members of the deceased policeman via the party's online portal
"Let us all Malaysians thank those who have greatly sacrificed, especially those at the frontline in the battle against Covid-19."
"Al-fatihah to the late corperal Masri," he said.
