Squid Game's O Yeong-Su First South Korean to Win Golden Globe

By ellephant

O Yeongsu or known by the world as Player 001, won his first Golden Globe on Sunday (Jan 9th).

Based on reports, the 77 year old born in 1944 (the same year the Awards were introduced), became the first Korean actor to win a Golden Globe in history.

He played Player 001 (Oh Il-nam) and was awarded best performance by a supporting actor in a series, limited series or television movie.

Besides it being his first win, it was also his first major award nomination. Yeongsu however, wasn't there to physically accept the award due to pandemic restrictions.

A stellar performance, slaying it well into his 70's and greatly deserved, congratulations sir!
