Think ayam geprek, but desserts style. Yes, Es krim geprek (Smashed ice cream) is the latest food buzz from Indonesia that's generating all sorts of "oohs" and "aahs" on TikTok recently.
The bizzare trend paved a new sensation of eating sundae which is by placing several cones upside down in a container. Then, each cone are crushed into tiny bits and mixed with the sundae, à la geprek style. Pretty hardcore for a dessert, I know!
Many have hopped on the bandwagon with their own personalized versions of the dessert by adding different toppings and sauces.
One user, @hendry.jonathan, literally went above and beyond by putting a fine dining spin on his, using decadent soft serves from Godiva which were reported to be worth US$21!
