If you find yourself left with nothing to do during the 14-day partial lockdown in Malaysia by the government in an attempt to curb the rise in the number of cases of COVID-19, here is a list of things that you might like to do to while your time away.

1. Learn something new

If you are into something that will be beneficial and challenging, you might like to learn something or pick up a new language. There are numerous websites and apps that you could use to learn different languages including German, French, Japanese or Korean. Some applications that you can download for free include Duolingo, Memrise, and Busuu.

2. Watch movies

If you want to do something relaxing, you might like to watch some movies, especially movies that you have missed out on due to your busy schedule. The choice of movies mainly depends on the type of movies that you like to watch but if you do not have any preferences, here are some nice movies that you might like to watch:

1917 talks about the story of two British soldiers and their stories in World War I.

Joker talks about the life of a failed comedian who turns into a killer clown.

Ready or Not tells the story of Grace who fights for her survival on the night of her wedding.

3. Baking

If you like cooking, you might want to try and learn a few new recipes or bake something new. This will be helpful since you will be able to bake your own bread or cake, so you can be sure that your food has not been contaminated. You could visit these websites to get some new recipes: BBC Good Food, Baking Mad and Food Network.

4. Making journals

If you are an artistic person and like to draw or paint, you can make a journal during this period. It can be almost any topic such as your Christmas holidays, Chinese New Year celebrations or even about the virus, COVID-19. There are various types of journals that you can make, including thought journals, food journals, and travel journals. You can also try some scrapbooks.
