Abdul Hameed Mohammed, a 54-year-old restaurant manager, finds himself at the center of an unsettling controversy as false accusations circulate, claiming that he spat in the food served at his restaurant. Expressing his dismay, Abdul Hameed is determined to set the record straight and put an end to the confusion caused by these baseless allegations.

The unsettling situation began when a viral video surfaced on WhatsApp, showcasing Abdul Hameed's restaurant. To his surprise, the video had been authorized by Laman Johor Foodie's Facebook page to promote the restaurant and its delectable dishes. However, much to his dismay, some individuals twisted the context of the video, alleging that he had engaged in the unhygienic act of spitting into the food being prepared.

The video with its defamatory caption continues to spread on WhatsApp, and an individual has further fueled the controversy through a voice message, urging authorities to take action against the restaurant staff allegedly involved in contaminating food by spitting. This individual claims that such actions are part of the beliefs and practices of certain vendors.

Moreover, the same video has now surfaced on a TikTok account, prolonging the confusion and distress for Abdul Hameed and his restaurant.

Reacting to the accusations, Abdul Hameed firmly denied any wrongdoing, asserting that it made no sense for him to tarnish the reputation of his restaurant intentionally. He explained that during the moment captured in the video, he was merely inspecting the cooking process. His task involved looking into a large pot to remove cinnamon, lemongrass, and pandan leaves while skillfully serving the rice onto the plate. At no point did he engage in the alleged act of spitting.

The restaurant manager expressed his deep disappointment with the individual who made such hasty and misleading conclusions based on lip movements or visuals without understanding the genuine context of the situation. He emphasized that such misleading actions could cause significant harm, not only to the restaurant's reputation but also to the trust of both local customers and foreign tourists who patronize the establishment.

As a devout Muslim, Abdul Hameed highlighted the significance of cleanliness in Islam and his adherence to its teachings. He vehemently refuted the claim that he would engage in such an unhygienic and disrespectful act, as it goes against the principles of his faith.

"As a Muslim, I am aware of how Islam emphasizes cleanliness, and I am ready to meet or explain to anyone because I know I am innocent," he firmly stated.

Abdul Hameed strongly expressed that spitting in food is a reprehensible act and wholly inconsistent with Islamic values. He hopes that the individuals responsible for these baseless allegations will retract their statements, understanding the gravity of the situation and the harm caused.

In light of the severity of the accusations and the potential damage to his restaurant's reputation, Abdul Hameed has taken decisive action by filing a police report at Balai Polis Pelangi Indah today. He remains determined to clear his name and protect the honor of his restaurant, which he has been proudly managing for over 30 years.
