Trying something new in a foreign country can feel overwhelming, especially when it involves navigating public transport for the very first time. But one foreign woman decided to take on the challenge of riding the metro in Kuala Lumpur even though she openly admitted she had no idea what she was doing.
In a video she shared online, she brought viewers along for the entire journey. From debating whether to take a RM20 taxi to choosing the much cheaper RM2.60 metro ticket instead, she decided to step out of her comfort zone and give the city's train system a try. She carefully navigated the English-language ticket machines, selected her destination, and paid for her ride, clearly determined to figure things out on her own.
She also discovered how the token system works tapping in at the gate and later inserting the token to exit. What initially felt confusing quickly turned into a smooth and surprisingly easy experience. By the end of the ride, her nervousness had transformed into confidence, proving that sometimes all it takes is a little courage to explore a new city.
