What was meant to be a simple buka puasa turned into a meaningful experience for one woman when she joined around 500 strangers at Dataran Merdeka.
Sharing her story on Instagram (@jiaqi_079), she described the gathering as heartwarming, with people from different backgrounds coming together to eat, chat, and connect. As they waited to break fast, strangers exchanged smiles and conversations, creating a strong sense of community.
There was also a generous spread of free food, including chicken rice, bubur lambuk, kuih, and drinks. One of the most memorable moments for her was learning about bubur lambuk from a friendly pak cik, turning a simple dish into a cultural exchange.
Reflecting on the evening, she shared that buka puasa is more than just a meal its about connection, community, and the shared spirit that brings Malaysians together.
