Maybank has issued an alert to its valued customers regarding a circulating fake email scam.

In the announcement, Maybank clarifies that they will never request customers to click on links or disclose personal banking information.

Following this, the bank has outlined key tips to help customers protect themselves online:

1. NEVER CLICK on any suspicious links: Avoid clicking on links embedded in emails, messages, or chats if they seem suspicious or unsolicited. Scammers often use these tactics to lead individuals to malicious websites designed to steal personal information.

2. NEVER SHARE your username or password: Your login credentials are sensitive information. Never share them with anyone, whether through email, phone, or any other communication channel.

3. NEVER SHARE your TAC/OTP: Transaction Authentication Code (TAC) or One-Time Password (OTP) should never be shared with anyone. These codes are meant for your use only to authenticate legitimate transactions.

By adhering to these precautions, customers can play an active role in safeguarding their personal and financial information from scams and cyber threats.

In an era of increasing digital connectivity, being cautious and aware of potential scams is paramount.
