The Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his concern over the issue of water shortages in Kelantan and Sabah. In a recent announcement, he revealed that he plans to hold meetings with both the Kelantan Chief Minister and the Sabah Chief Minister within the next two weeks to discuss solution to resolve the ongoing issue.

Water scarcity is a grave problem in both of the states, particularly in recent years, with residents experiencing prolonged periods without access to clean water.

The Prime Minister has made it clear that he views this issue as a top priority, and he is committed to finding a solution that will ensure that residents in both regions have access to safe and reliable water supplies. His decision to meet with the Kelantan Chief Minister and the Sabah Chief Minister is a clear indication of his determination to tackle this problem head-on.

"I will invite the Kelantan Menteri Besar and Sabah Chief Minister and the relevant people to find a solution to the water issue faced by both states, even if it involves billions of ringgit. We must find a solution and resolve the issue by this year." he stated. "What is important is that after 60 years, the people cannot be burdened with issues like lack of clean water supply for consumption."

It is not yet clear what specific measures the Prime Minister will propose during these meetings. However, many experts have called for increased investment in water infrastructure and conservation efforts, as well as more efficient and sustainable management of existing water resources.

In any case, the Prime Minister's decision to take action on this issue is a positive development, and it is hoped that these upcoming meetings will result in concrete steps being taken to address the water woes facing Kelantan and Sabah. The people of these regions have been suffering for too long, and it is time for their concerns to be taken seriously and addressed in a meaningful way.
