A TikTok video by a Malaysian man named Anas (@anassmilly) has recently gone viral after he shared his enthusiastic review of a matcha latte from the trendy café Brew92, located in Mecca. The video has since captured the attention of netizens, especially matcha lovers.
@anassmilly Lurve matcha latte kat Mekah yer HAHAHAHAHAHAH kena bukak kat malaysia please kitorang minat coffee btw anas dah malaysia video lama #fyp #fypdongggggggg #matcha original sound - anassmilly
In the video, Anas is seen trying the drink while performing umrah and mentioned that he took the opportunity to sample a variety of new and unique foods and beverages during his pilgrimage. His excitement was evident as he expressed his love for matcha before even taking a sip.
"I really love matcha. This grassy matcha-matcha latte really tastes good," Anas said with anticipation.
However, it was his surprised reaction after the first sip that caught viewers' attention. Staring intently at the cup, he exclaimed, "Can you open one in Malaysia? I had to come all the way to Mecca to get this, ya Allah."
Anas acknowledged that the drink wasn't cheap, priced at 24 Saudi Riyal (approximately RM27.35), but insisted that the quality and taste were well worth it.
"But I swear it's delicious. What milk are they using? Camel's milk? Arabs, please open one in Malaysia. Malaysians are huge fans of coffee and matcha," he added.
He went on to say the matcha latte was so addictive that he had already finished half the cup in just one sip. "Good luck trying it out, guys, come to Mecca," he urged viewers.
As a self-proclaimed matcha enthusiast, Anas confessed that he had never tasted a matcha latte as good as the one from Brew92 anywhere in Malaysia. His glowing recommendation ended with a hopeful plea: "Love the matcha latte in Mecca, okay. You guys need to open one in Malaysia, please, we love coffee."
The video quickly drew the attention of fellow TikTok users. Many flocked to the comments section expressing their curiosity and desire to try the drink for themselves. Those who had previously visited Brew92 also chimed in, agreeing with Anas's review and vouching for the quality of the cafés beverages.
With such an overwhelming response, it seems the call for a Brew92 branch in Malaysia is louder than ever.
