An overlaid text on the video read, "A China national using the Jalur Gemilang to wash his motorcycle?!"Although the original video has been removed from TikTok, it was quickly reshared on various social media platforms. One of the most widely viewed reposts was shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) by @update11111, which garnered over 800k views and fueled further outrage among Malaysians.
As the controversy escalated, @tbheng_18 posted a follow-up video to clarify the situation. He emphasized that he was not the individual seen in the video using the Malaysian flag to wash the motorcycle. Instead, the person in question was a Chinese national. In his explanation, @tbheng_18 stressed that he is a proud Malaysian who loves his country and had recorded the incident to report it to the authorities at his school in China. According to him, he had also instructed the individual to stop using the Jalur Gemilang in such a disrespectful manner and to return the flag. In response to the incident, the school took action by confiscating the individual's motorcycle. However, both the original video and the follow-up clarification have since been removed from @tbheng_18's TikTok account.
