A young man's simple yet meaningful act of covering a pothole along a road in Kuala Lumpur has gone viral, garnering widespread praise across social media platforms.
The incident, which took place on May 6, was captured in a video shared by the young man himself on TikTok under the username @driving4dummies. In the video, the man, identified as Ammar, was riding his motorcycle along Jalan Conlay, near Prince Court Medical Centre, when he spotted a pothole in the middle of the road.
Taking immediate action, Ammar stopped his motorcycle and snapped a photo of the pothole to raise awareness about the road hazard.
Coincidentally, a traffic police officer happened to be passing by at that very moment. Upon noticing Ammar's actions, the officer approached him and asked about the situation. After hearing Ammar's explanation, the officer wasted no time in pulling a road barrier to block the pothole, ensuring other motorists would not run into it.
Ammar later shared that the encounter was a memorable one for him. In his video caption, he wrote, "A simple but meaningful moment for me, citizens and police together ensuring road safety. Love!"
To take things a step further, Ammar also filed a report through the My Jalan KKR app to alert the relevant authorities and prompt repair work.
The video has since received nearly 330k views, sparking positive reactions from netizens. Many praised both Ammar and the traffic police officer for their proactive and responsible efforts in looking out for public safety.
Users in the comment section applauded their teamwork, with several expressing hope that more people would show similar concern for road safety and take action when needed.
