vivo has officially launched its new vivo X500 Series in Shanghai, comprising the vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max.
This time, vivo is putting an even bigger emphasis on what it calls “dynamic imaging” — essentially improving how its phones handle not only photos, but also videos, Live photos and moving subjects.
The new series brings upgrades across its cameras, sensors, image processing, stabilisation and video capabilities, with the X500 Pro Max sitting at the top of the lineup.

Here’s what you need to know.
#1 - A New Sony Sensor
One of the biggest upgrades is found on the vivo X500 Pro Max, which debuts the vivo × Sony LYTIA L910 sensor.
According to vivo, the sensor is capable of 17 EV Ultra-High Dynamic Range in true output, designed to retain more details when shooting challenging scenes such as strong backlighting.
The phone also comes with a 200 MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera, along with support for the 400 mm Equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra.
For stabilisation, its ZEISS TrueDynamic Main Camera offers 3° gimbal-grade OIS, while both its main and telephoto cameras achieve CIPA 7.0 Professional Stabilisation.

#2 - Videography Gets A Big Upgrade
The X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max support 4K 240 fps Cinematic Slow-Mo Video, allowing users to slow down fast-moving moments such as liquid splashes or bursting bubbles.
For more advanced creators, the Pro models also feature 17 EV TrueDynamic Log Video, supporting 10-bit 4:2:2 encoding and the Academy Colour Encoding System (ACES).
vivo has also partnered with DaVinci to support official colour transformation, allowing Log footage from the phones to be colour-graded within the same colour space used for professional cinema camera footage.
Other video features include:
>> 4K 120 fps 10-bit Log burn-in direct output
>> 4K 120 fps AF Tracking Video
>> 4K Cinematic Portrait Video
>> 8K Native Live direct output

#3 - Cinema Mode Makes Creative Shots Easier
Not everyone wants to manually tweak professional video settings, so vivo has also included several more accessible tools in its Cinema mode.
There are four cinematic camera movement options: Auto Framing Video, Vortex Shot, Super Slow-Mo and Dual View.
The series also introduces six cinematic video colour styles: Golden, Platinum, Sunny Day, Paris Afterglow, Noir and Amber.
The idea is to give everyday users more ways to create cinematic-looking footage directly from their phones.

#4 - Telephoto Gets Serious Too
The X500 Pro Max uses the same 200 MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera as the X300 Ultra.
It comes with CIPA 7.0 Professional Stabilisation and 1536-point multi-zone laser focus across its focal lengths.
Other telephoto features include up to 30x Long Range Motion Snapshot and Anyplace Telephoto Tracking.
The X500 Pro Max also supports the 400 mm Equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra.
Meanwhile, the X500 Pro comes with a ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera that also achieves CIPA 7.0 Professional Stabilisation.

#5 - Specs & OS
Both the vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, built on the second-generation 2nm N2P process.
The platform works alongside vivo’s imaging technology, including its V3+ and VS1 imaging chips, and features professional Log video hardware and Ultra Performance Imaging NPU 2.0.
