Made Your Final Payment? Congratulations!

Paying off your PTPTN loan is a huge milestone, but there are still a few important things to do before you can officially close this chapter.

Here's a checklist to make sure everything is properly settled.

1. Confirm Your Final Payment

After making your last payment, log in to myPTPTN and check that:

Your full payment has been recorded.

The transaction appears in your loan statement.

Your outstanding balance is RM0.00.

Important: Take note of when the transaction is updated in your loan statement. This date determines when you can apply for your settlement letternot necessarily the day you made the payment.

Your Settlement Letter Takes Time

Your Surat Penyelesaian Hutang (SPH) is not available immediately after you finish paying your loan.

According to a PTPTN representative, you can only print your SPH 14 working days after the full-payment transaction has been updated in your loan statement.

So, don't panic if you don't see it right away the waiting period starts from the transaction update date.

How To Get Your SPH

Once the 14 working days have passed:

Open the myPTPTN app and go to:

Services Debt Settlement Letter Application

Your Surat Penyelesaian Hutang (SPH) is the official proof that your PTPTN loan has been fully settled.

Download a digital copy and keep a backup with your important financial documents you may need it in the future for loan applications or other financial matters.

Check That Your Payments Have Stopped

If You Paid Through Direct Debit

PTPTN states that direct debit will be cancelled automatically once your loan has been fully settled.

However, it's still worth checking your bank account after the next scheduled deduction date to ensure no further payment has been taken.

If a deduction still occurs, check myPTPTN to see whether it has been recorded as an excess payment.

If You Paid Through Salary Deduction

If your repayments were made through your employer, you may need to submit PTPTN's Salary Deduction Amendment/Cancellation Form.

After submitting the form:

Inform your employer's HR or payroll department.

Check your next payslip.

Make sure no further PTPTN deductions are made.

Don't assume the payroll system will update automatically it is always better to verify.

Check For Excess Payments

You may have accidentally overpaid if:

Your salary deduction continued after settlement.

A direct debit payment was processed.

You made an additional manual payment.

Two payment methods overlapped.

To check, go to:

myPTPTN My Account Loan View Account

If you're eligible for a refund, excess payments can be claimed through myPTPTN.

Review Your CCRIS Record

Your CCRIS record may not be updated immediately after your final payment.

Check your report through eCCRIS in the following month's reporting cycle.

If your PTPTN facility still does not appear as settled after the reporting cycle, contact PTPTN for assistance.

Also remember that settling your loan does not erase your previous 12 months of repayment history. CCRIS will continue to display your repayment behaviour during that period.

Final Checklist Before You Celebrate

Before you officially say goodbye to your PTPTN loan, make sure you've completed everything below:

Confirm your outstanding balance is RM0.00.

Wait 14 working days after the transaction is updated.

Apply for and save your Surat Penyelesaian Hutang (SPH).

Cancel salary deductions (if applicable).

Verify that direct debit has stopped.

Claim any eligible excess payment.

Review your CCRIS record after the next reporting cycle.

Once you've ticked every box, you can finally celebrate and proudly say:
