Tan Hock Eng, commonly referred to as Hock Tan, is a native of Penang and was recognized as the highest-paid CEO in the US last year.
The CEO of Broadcom took home an incredible US$1162 million (RM757.93 million) in salary in 2023, according to a Wall Street Journal research.
This surpassed Mark Zuckerberg of Meta, Elon Musk of Tesla, and Tim Cook of Apple!
Tan, who has been CEO of Broadcom since 2006, was the top performer in the WSJ rankings in 2017 and was paid US$103 million (RM483.35 million).
He was among the first workers of Broadcom when he started working there in 1996.
Although it's a highly desired goal, being a CEO requires certain skills.
