A recent wave of photos and videos making rounds online has stirred debate among Malaysians after claims of a paranormal presence inside an office building in Parcel C, Putrajaya.
The viral content first surfaced on Threads, where a user insisted that the images and clips were not manipulated with artificial intelligence (AI), but instead showcased a genuine ghostly encounter.
Among the images shared, one shows a man in a dimly lit hallway holding what appears to be a broomstick, seemingly conducting a "cleansing ritual." Another photo taken of a phone screen reveals a figure dressed in white with long black hair covering the face, eerily standing in the corridor.
The videos have also fueled speculation. One clip captures the exterior of the building, with faint glowing lights believed to be candles or torches flickering from two windows. The second video depicts a man sprinkling water by hand along the office corridor, an act reminiscent of traditional exorcism practices. In the same footage, an exit sign can be seen swaying repeatedly without any visible cause.
As expected, the unusual footage triggered a flood of reactions online. Some users came forward with their own chilling experiences. One Threads commenter recalled working at a service counter late at night and being "disturbed" by unseen forces:
"Most of the time they just disturb harmlessly, but they can turn aggressive if we do something out of the ordinary, like moving objects that shouldn't be moved," the user shared.
However, skepticism was equally strong. Critics dismissed the so-called haunting as nothing more than clever editing. Others pointed out logical explanations, such as the swinging exit sign being located beneath an air vent.
Adding another layer to the story, Kosmo! reported that a source linked the alleged paranormal incident to the recent removal of a tree behind Complex C. According to the claim, the "entity" was believed to reside within the tree before it was cut down.
Whether genuine or fabricated, the alleged haunting has certainly captivated netizens, with some entertained, others spooked, and many left questioning what really happened inside the government office.
