A dangerous rhetoric has risen from Tiktok, claiming that a group of men has declared April 24th as the National Rape Day, causing a wave of panic among users across various social medias. 

Many have since come forward to spread the words and warn women to take extra precautions during that day like carrying a self-defense weapon, traveling in groups, or just stay home. 

Although the original source of the threat is untractable at the moment, it still poses an alarm to women everywhere as the sick trend continues to spread widely online. While there is a possibility that this is just another elaborated joke by online trolls, we cannot ignore the fact that men are given such privilege to joke about compromising the safety of women without even thinking twice. 

For precautionary measures, women are advised to be extra careful on that day, and try to stay indoors if possible.
