In a distressing incident that unfolded on Eco Grandeur Road in Puncak Alam, a five-year-old girl sustained injuries when she was struck by a reversing car in front of a shop. The incident, which occurred around 6:40 PM, sent shockwaves through social media as a 59-second video of the incident quickly went viral.
Deputy Chief of Police of Kuala Selangor District, Deputy Superintendent Ambia Nordin, shed light on the incident. It was revealed that a man in his thirties had been behind the wheel of a Hyundai Elantra, en route to pick up his child from a local kindergarten.
As he arrived at the location, the driver, while reversing to enter a parking space, is believed to have accidentally pressed the accelerator pedal, causing the car to reverse rapidly.
