A decomposing body stuffed into a blue suitcase was discovered in Taman Cheras Perdana near Kajang, believed to be that of an unidentified man, police confirmed yesterday.
Kajang district police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof stated that investigators are actively working to determine the identity of the deceased.
According to Malaymail, the discovery was made at approximately 11:45 a.m., Monday when a member of the public stumbled upon the suspicious, foul-smelling bag. Acting on the report, the police promptly deployed a team to the location, accompanied by the Forensic Unit and the K9 Detection Unit.
"Upon examination, it was confirmed that the blue suitcase contained the body of a man with no identification," said Naazron in a statement.
The body has since been transported to Hospital Serdang, where a post-mortem is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. today to ascertain the cause of death.
The case is being investigated under the classification of murder, which carries severe penalties, including death or imprisonment ranging from 30 to 40 years upon conviction.
