However, SPPIM is not used in every state. It generally excludes:

Pahang

Penang

Sabah

Sarawak

Couples in these states should apply through their respective state religious authority, portal or religious office.

2. Complete Your Pre-Marriage Course

The Islamic pre-marriage course is generally compulsory for prospective Muslim brides and grooms.

3. Generate Your Official Document Checklist

4. Check Whether You Need Passport Photos

5. Complete Your HIV Screening

A divorced woman who was previously married as a virgin, depending on the applicable state rules

If your circumstances require court approval, don't leave this until the last minute.

7. Apply For Permission To Marry

Once you've completed the necessary requirements and gathered your documents, submit your marriage application through SPPIM or your state's official channel, depending on where you are applying.

After approval, the permission-to-marry document is generally valid for 90 days from its date of issue.

You don't want your marriage permission to expire before your akad nikah because you started the process too early.
