During the Recovery Movement Control Order, the government allowed people to travel locally. Langkawi travel agencies said that this is a rare holiday opportunity for Malaysians and they can travel to Langkawi at lower prices.

According to Sinchew, as most hotels in Langkawi Island have lowered their hotel fees and eventually reduced the burden of travel expenses for tourists. It is estimated that everyone can save at least 10% of travel expenses.

Locals are welcomed to seize the opportunity and to have a local trip in compliance with the new measures.

The promotion offer of five-star hotels in Langkawi Island has been extended from the 9th of this month to June 30th. 

The five-star hotel Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa has a daily room rate of RM 400. However, as long as you stay within the period until June 30, you can enjoy a room rate of RM 120 per night. This offer only for Kedah people.

As for the five-star hotel Berjaya Langkawi Resort, the hotel has offered a 75% discount for a double room rate at RM225 per night!
