A video clip that recently went viral has left Malaysians stunned, as it captured a heart-stopping moment involving an elderly man dangerously standing on active train tracks just to cross to the other side.
The 22-second footage, shared by KelantanFA.com, shows a train steadily making its way along a railway line running through a residential area. As the train passes by, the elderly man suddenly appears from the left corner of a small platformrevealing that he had been waiting mere inches away from the speeding train.
Once the train clears the path, the man nonchalantly steps onto the track and walks across as though nothing had happened, showing no visible reaction to the risky stunt he had just pulled off.
The video sparked alarm across social media, with many netizens expressing disbelief over the man's actions. Some pointed out how incredibly dangerous the act was, especially considering the narrowness of the space he was standing in.
KTM Berhad later issued a public reminder in the video's comment section, strongly condemning such actions and reiterating the legal consequences.
"Crossing or trespassing on railway tracks is both dangerous and prohibited under Section 126 of the Land Public Transport Act 2010," the company stated.
"Anyone found doing so can be fined up to RM500. More importantly, it's a matter of life and death. Please prioritise your safety and follow all safety regulations."
The incident serves as a chilling reminder of the dangers of ignoring railway safety guidelines, especially near tracks that run through populated areas.
