Your Guide To Conscious Shopping | Alternatives To Non-Cruelty Free Beauty Brands Worth Switching Over

24-Feb-2021

It's 2021, it’s about time time we stop supporting brands that blatantly display their ignorant negligence towards animal welfare all in the name of capitalism. Our hard-earned cash is best spent elsewhere than to go towards companies that thrive off the sufferings of defenceless animals. Especially so when there are other cruelty-free brands that perform just as well, if not better.

Here are a few of those alternatives.

| If you've been using Benefit, try Anastasia Beverly Hills instead

Aside from their brow products, Benefit can easily be overshadowed by the quality and variety of Anastasia Beverly Hills products if they were to be put side by side. Try Naming one good eyeshadow palette from Benefit, and I bet you'd struggle. If you think you can't let go of their iconic Hoola bronzer, you'd be pleased to know ABH bronzer performs just as well AND it's cheaper. Overall, ABH products rarely disappoint.

| If you've been using Belif, try Biossance instead

Biossance is a product that deserves every bit of your attention if you're a supporter of sustainable, clean beauty. They use plant-derived squalane oil as the defining ingredient in all of their products, which is excellent as a natural moisturiser. What makes them different from other oils? It doesn't actually form a barrier on your skin, like most oils do. In fact, it gets absorbed right away.

As for Belif, their products mostly contain irritable ingredients which are not worth the animals they torture to produce them.

| If you've been using Bobby Brown, try Hourglass instead

Bobby Brown is quite the brand of status, but so is Hourglass. The difference is one tests on animals, and the other one is an elite brand with absolutely no need for introduction. There's a reason the beauty community treats Hourglass like a premium must-have brand. If you can afford Bobbi Brown, switching to Hourglass wouldn't be a problem.

| If you've been using Borjois, try Catrice instead

When you can save the animals and money at the same time, why the heck not?

Catrice is known to produce decent products with affordable price point and some even made their way to beauty influencers' staple must-haves! Just ask Tati Wetsbrook. So there's no reason you should still be attached with a brand like Borjois when you can have other good, affordable brands at your disposal.

| If you've been using Caudallie, try Kora Organics instead

Sometimes, high-end skincare are just expensive water in a bottle. But, much like the name, Kora Organics is actually worth investing. Founded by Miranda Kerr, this supermodel-approved brand is what you need for that top model glow— without hurting any animals in the process.
