Latah, a syndrome in which unusual actions result from a person encountering a sudden shock or other external stressor, has almost exclusively been documented in people from Southeast Asia. Peculiar, isn't it?

In this adorable video, this Indian lady, seemingly from Perak judging by her dialect, has apparently developed latah disorder. If you're not familiar with Latah, this is exactly what it looks like: it is when a person suddenly adopts a repetitive movement or saying following external disturbance. Its activated when someone with a Latah disorder is startled, just like in this video.

A little fun fact: no one is born with this. Latah is reportedly developed over time. A research was once conducted to study the possible triggers of a Latah disorder, and the result? Apparently, the research participants who have developed Latah have reported having a series of strange dreams, typically included some aspect of sexuality, frequently including penises. According to researchers, some anatomical dysfunction may have caused it.
