A nasi lemak seller has taken to TikTok to address a complaint from a customer dissatisfied with the packaging and pricing of her meal. The customer had expressed her frustration on Facebook, criticizing the seller for wrapping the nasi lemak in plastic despite charging RM15 for the food.

In his TikTok video, the seller explained the situation in detail. According to him, the customer, who was driving a white luxury car, ordered two packs of nasi lemakone with fried beef and another with fried chicken. She also requested extra beef for one of the packs, which raised the total cost to RM16.50. However, the seller gave her an RM1.50 discount, reducing the price to RM15.

Breaking down the pricing, the seller clarified that nasi lemak with beef costs RM8 per pack, while the chicken option is RM6.50. This includes RM3.50 for the fried chicken.

Responding to the criticism about the packaging, the seller admitted that he uses plastic to wrap the nasi lemak to keep costs low. He pointed out that this practice is common among street vendors and helps him remain competitive.

In a show of goodwill, the seller offered to refund the RM15 and invited the customer to contact him directly. He expressed his desire to resolve the matter, saying he wanted to avoid any accountability for unresolved grievances in the afterlife.

The incident has sparked discussions online, with many TikTok users sympathizing with the seller's plight as a small business owner trying to make ends meet. Others debated whether premium pricing should come with better packaging.

This exchange highlights the challenges faced by street balancing affordability, quality, and customer expectations.
