Success often comes to those who work hard, and one alumna of Maahad Tahfiz Integrasi Sains (MATIS) Madinatul Huffaz, Gombak, has proven just that after excelling in the recent Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.
In a TikTok post shared by @tahfizmadinatulhuffaz, alumna Aina Afiqah Binti Sahipol Nizam was celebrated for receiving the Tokoh Sahsiah Terpuji Award, an accolade that recognises outstanding character and personality.
Part of the Armada cohort who sat for SPM in 2024, Aina scored an impressive 10 straight A's. On top of that, she was recognised as an excellent student in Mathematics and Physics, two subjects known to challenge even the best students.
What made her achievement even more remarkable was her ability to speak fluent Japanese. During an interview with tahfiz representatives, Aina delivered her speech entirely in Japanese with such ease and confidence that she sounded just like a native speaker.
She expressed her gratitude for the award, thanking her teachers and school for their continuous guidance and support.
Standing beside her, Aina's father, Sahipol Nizam, also surprised many when he, too, spoke fluent Japanese. In a touching moment, he congratulated his daughter, saying:
"Today, as a father, I feel very happy to be blessed with such an excellent daughter," he shared in Japanese.
Aina's academic success, combined with her mastery of Japanese, serves as proof that tahfiz students are on par if not ahead of their peers in fully science-based schools.
Her achievements quickly drew the admiration of many, who flooded the comments with congratulatory messages. Many praised her parents for raising such an exceptional child and expressed hopes that their own children would one day achieve similar success.
Interestingly, her father's fluency in Japanese also became a talking point. Some netizens speculated in the comments that Aina's mother is Japanese, originally from Nagoya, while her father had pursued his studies in Japan back in the 1970s.
Aina's story not only highlights the excellence of tahfiz students but also shows how dedication, family support, and strong educational values can shape outstanding individuals who shine in both academics and personal character.
