Siti Bainun Ahd Razali, the founder of Rumah Bonda, was found guilty by the Sessions Court in this city today of neglecting and abusing Bella, a teenage girl with Down syndrome. A case that sparked the hashtag #JusticeForBella has finally come to a bittersweet end. 

At 10 AM today, Judge Izralizam Sanusi announced the verdict, finding Siti Bainun responsible for teenage Bella's physical and psychological harm as a result of her neglect and abuse. After Bella was placed in Siti Bainun's care and began exhibiting Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms, it was concluded that she had suffered emotional damage.

He sentenced the 31-year-old founder under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, meaning she could be fined up to RM50,000 or jailed for up to 20 years or both.
