JPJ Branch In Wangsa Maju Severely Flooded Following Heavy Rainfall Footage Of The Incident Went Viral

The JPJ Wangsa Maju branch was affected by a severe flood on Tuesday, 8th May due to heavy rainfall. A viral video of the flood has been circulating on social media platforms. The video shows heavy water flowing from the ceilings above the counters.

According to Kosmo Online, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) gave assurances that the agency's service operations at the branch are still open as usual today.

However, the area impacted by yesterday's intense rain has to be temporarily closed, according to Aedy Fadly Ramli, JPJ's Deputy Director General (Planning and Operations).

Just the impacted area, which is now closed, not the entire building.

When approached by reporters at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) here late last night, he stated, "There are only a few sections that had to be closed for the repair process, including the driver licensing section, but not all areas were affected by the flood."

He said this when asked to comment on the viral video showing the condition of several parts of the JPJ Wangsa Maju branch that were flooded due to the heavy rainfall yesterday.

Commenting further, Aedy Fadly said that members of the public who want to settle things at JPJ Wangsa Maju can still go to the branch and do not need to worry about the condition of the building there.

He said that JPJ Kuala Lumpur has estimated the loss and is putting together a comprehensive report on the event when questioned about the extent of the damage.
