Kuala Lumpur, 23 September 2026 – Genting Malaysia Berhad (GENM) and Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia) have deepened their partnership to accelerate digital transformation across Resorts World Genting (RWG), kicking off with an Intelligence Operations Centre (IOC) as the collaboration’s first flagship project.
The collaboration was formalised through the signing of a Collaboration Agreement in Shanghai on 18 September 2026, on the sidelines of HUAWEI CONNECT 2026. The agreement builds on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by both parties in April 2026 to explore the adoption of Huawei's digital, information and communications technology (ICT), artificial intelligence (AI) and other advanced technology solutions across Genting Malaysia's businesses.
GENM was represented at the signing by Tan Yi-Sheng, Executive Vice President of Strategy, Transformation, Analytics and Results at RWG, witnessed by Dato' Indera Lim Keong Hui, Deputy Chief Executive of GENM. Huawei Malaysia was represented by Du Xianjun, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Business, witnessed by Maxi Wang, President of Huawei Asia Pacific Enterprise Sales Department.
The collaboration combines Genting Malaysia's expertise in integrated resort operations and Huawei Malaysia's strengths in digital technologies, enterprise ICT solutions and AI. It will support efforts to improve operational excellence and explore innovative digital applications across RWG, while creating opportunities for both organisations to explore future digital projects.
As the first flagship initiative under the collaboration, the IOC at RWG will function as a centralised digital command centre designed to enhance operational visibility, coordination and decision-making across RWG. It will also lay the groundwork for AI, intelligent analytics and other advanced technologies and tools to support smarter, data-driven operations going forward.
By strengthening the technological capabilities supporting operations behind the scenes, GENM aims to enhance operational efficiency and resilience while continuing to deliver seamless and world-class experiences for guests and visitors.
Huawei Malaysia also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting GENM’s evolving business needs through technology.
