You know how escalators are a convenient feature in malls or multi-floor locations. However, they can become hazardous when they malfunction or encounter technical errors while in use.
Unfortunately, this was the case for an 8-year-old girl who was out shopping with her mother when a tragic incident occurred at Setapak Sentral. It was reported that the girl's toes were caught in the escalator, resulting in one being fractured.
A viral video on social media showed the fire brigade team rescuing the girl. It took approximately 30-40 minutes to free her leg. Once freed, the girl was promptly taken to receive emergency medical treatment.
We're glad she's been rescued!
