It's always fun to see when new contenders beat the old, and well, that's exactly what's happening in the vehicle industry in Malaysia, as well as neighboring countries for 2025.
Based on Malaysian motorist journalist Paul Tan, here's a list of the best selling cars in Malaysia so far (Jan-Apr 2025).

It's clear China has been making waves.
Jaecoo continues to be a presence by maintaining its fifth position with 1,545 units in April and a YTD total of 5,798 units.
Outside the top five, BYD, which only sells electric vehicles (EVs), also managed another month of four-digit vehicle registrations. Its 1,048 units put it in sixth place in April 2025, bringing its YTD total to 3,207 units.
Another fun fact: did you know that in Singapore, BYD was the top selling car brand in the first 4 months of 2025?
