The pair had connected via a dating website back in July 2020.
Speaking to the press, Kuala Terengganu District Police chief, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rahim Md Din, had this to say:
"Throughout the period of three years, the victim made 22 transactions to several accounts given by the suspect, all amounted to RM500,000."
When asked on why the victim easily gave in to the blatant deception, she cited "love and trust " being the reason.
