8 SMART Ways to Deal With Dry Skin at Home

24-Jun-2021

Being stuck indoors on the daily, probably isn't the best situation for both our mental and physical health.

Putting our inability to socialize and live a normal life on hold for a bit, this pandemic has done nothing whatsoever for us physically as well. For instance, our skin and the lack of sunlight it's been absorbing.

Indirectly losing that Vitamin D and having our skin dry up like prunes, well it certainly wasn't what any of us had planned for the year 2021.

Fortunately, there are ways to attempt to keep your skin on form, whilst being indoors, and here are 7 of them.

1. Use moisturizing products

Now a good a time as any, is probably when you should re-evaluate your skincare. It is vital to use products which are high in moisture, so that your face and body is always fresh and rejuvenated.

2. Use a humidifier

Another method to keep your face moist, is allowing water vapor to slowly set over it. Getting a humidifier would definitely make a difference to dry skin.

3. Eat more fruits and vegetables

The powerful antioxidants in fruits and vegetables, can very much help with retaining the moisture in one's skin. Be sure to get your recommended dosage of vitamin and fiber everyday.

4. Drink plenty of water

An explanation unnecessary, no matter what happens in life, the answer is and always will be, water. Now that you're spending all this time at home, be sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.

5. Use products with a balanced pH value

Your face for instance, may require a different pH value. Be sure to use bath products with pH values which are most suited to your skin, as means to protect against bacteria, and keep moisture at the same time.

6. Avoid showering with hot water

Hot water, believe it or not, may feel real good, but isn't quite advised for the skin. It has the tendency to rob the moisture out of your body, leaving your skin rather dry. If you're okay without it, it'd probably be best to do away with it.

7. Take shorter showers

Besides hot water, showering for a long period of time can also leave your skin feeling dry. It removes the oils from your body, so be sure to do what you must and get out as soon as you can.
