Penang and Langkawi are included in the top ten Asian islands. According to DestinAsian, the two came in at No. 8 and No. 7, respectively, in the 17th annual Readers' Choice Awards 2024.

Bali ranked first, followed by Phu Quoc, Phuket, Koh Samui, Boracay, and the Maldives. The awards this year included additional categories and a broader selection of boutique accommodations.

Included were cities, islands, cruise lines, airlines, and more than 230 properties.

"Congratulations!" wrote Wong Hon Wai, the chairman of the Penang Tourism and Creative Economy Committee, on Facebook. One of the top 10 islands in Asia for 2024 is Penang.

In addition, the islands were ranked among Southeast Asia's top 10 in the inaugural Asia's Best Awards 2022.
