Recently, a post went viral on TikTok (@nuridahafiez) when a woman known as Ida shared her unique way of disciplining her son, who was said to be a little mischievous and often disobedient.
After realizing that scolding at home was not effective, Ida decided to take a different approach. She brought her young son to a police station in Perak and jokingly told him that she was going to hand him over to the authorities.
In the video, her second son could be seen crying in fear as soon as they arrived at the station. "POV: When the AI police video doesn't work anymore. We bring the real one, Ida captioned humorously."
Upon reaching the station's guard post, the on-duty officer cooperated with Ida and even asked her to park her vehicle at the side. The boy immediately became uneasy when he came face to face with the uniformed officer, pleading with his mother to take him back home.
"The police officer asked what wrong had he done? The kids quickly answered that they didn't do anything wrong," Ida recalled.
In a follow-up video, Ida shared that the officer also advised the panicked little boy to apologize to his mother and promised not to repeat his mistakes again. The boy, feeling guilty, quickly kissed Ida's hand and assured her that he would listen to her from then on.
'It wasn't intentional. Sometimes when we say (we'll bring them to the police), they think we won't dare. But once we actually go, it hits them," Ida explained.
She further added that police officers are usually cooperative when parents bring in their children for being disobedient, describing it as a harmless but effective way to warn them.
Thankfully, Ida said that her son has been behaving better ever since the incident.
The video quickly sparked attention online, with many viewers entertained by Ida's creativity in teaching her child a lesson. Some even praised her strategy, saying it was an effective way to instill discipline. A few parents admitted they were inspired by Ida's idea and were considering doing the same if their children became too stubborn.
