Based on reports, infections rates of the Omicron variant has pushed Thailand to administer a 4th dose to those who are high-risked. 

"People who are aged 60 and above, chronically ill, medical staff and frontliners, are to receive their 4th dose, in order to strengthen their immune systems", said the Governor of Bangkok. 

He also noted that after the 4th dose is approved, it will automatically be administered to these groups of people. 

Prior to Bangkok, just last week, Israel administered their 4th dose of Covid-19 vaccine to those aged 60 and above, frontliners and those with weak immune systems, in order to curb the spread of Omicron. 

According to a virologist in Thailand, the country believes that the spread of Omicron would see a sharp increase, after the New Year celebrations come to an end.
