In a successful operation last weekend, Sabah police apprehended four foreign male individuals, including a 10-year-old child, suspected of orchestrating robberies in tourist-concentrated areas of the city. The suspects, aged between 10 and 28, were captured in raids on Segama Street and Tugu Street, Kampung Air, by officers and members of the Special Investigation Department (D9) of the Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ).

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun revealed that the arrests have led to the resolution of several robbery cases in the city. The police initiated the investigation after receiving a report of a robbery on Gaya Street involving a Chinese citizen on December 30th. The victim lost cash and valuable items during the incident.

Following investigations, two men involved in the Gaya Street robbery were apprehended near a building on Labuk Street, Segama, on January 13th. The police seized suspected proceeds from robbery, along with two knives, a screwdriver, and a hammer used by the suspects.

Continuous surveillance and investigation efforts led to the arrest of two more suspects, including a 10-year-old child, in a raid on Tugu Street, Kampung Air, at 5:20 PM the following day. All arrested suspects lacked valid identification documents.

Continuous integrated operations, including 'Integrated Walkabouts,' will be conducted in hotspot areas to enhance public safety, reports local police.
