A Korean man who greeted his female neighbor at a supermarket was reportedly being beaten by her boyfriend and hospitalized for 12 weeks.

According to the victim, he went to the supermarket on May 18 as usual to buy cigarette and met the female neighbor who lived in the same apartment building. He greeted her politely. Shockingly, the boyfriend of the neighbor started to punch and kick him. 

He claimed that the attack led to him bleeding heavily and suffering from sunken left eye, strabismus as well as cerebral hemorrhage, thus he needed to be hospitalized for 12 weeks and could not work. Now that he suddenly has a massive medical expense to pay amid the pandemic — when unemployment rate increases everyday — while having a family to feed, this has become really tough for him.

The victim uploaded a video on YouTube and exposed the incident, saying that police did not pay attention to his words or arrest the attacker even though he had told them the truth. Following this, the locals have signed a petition to help the victim get his justice.
