Just yesterday, a 67-year-old man was observed calmly walking alone at Sun Plaza in Sembawang, without a shirt. Unexpectedly, the man initiated self-harm by repeatedly stabbing himself in the chest with a knife, eventually collapsing to the ground. 

Shoppers witnessed the distressing incident but hesitated to intervene due to fear. Authorities arrived 10 minutes later, finding the man unconscious and bleeding. He was promptly taken to the hospital, receiving ongoing treatment, while the police conducted an investigation. 

The motive behind the man's self-inflicted harm remains unknown.
