According to Nurul Aimi, the man had only visited Malaysia five months ago, yet he had already managed to pick up the language remarkably well.
"Met a Caucasian who can speak Malay, only five months walking around in Malaysia and already fluent," she wrote in her post.
The man revealed that he and his family had vacationed in Sabah back in May, where they explored several destinations, including Tawau, Kota Kinabalu, and Sipadan Island.
During his trip, he took the opportunity to sample a variety of local dishes. Among them, nasi lemak stood out as his favorite after he first tried it in Kuala Lumpur.
"We went to Tawau, Kota Kinabalu, Sipadan Island, and he just tried iced Milo (pointing to a family member) as well as roti canai.
"There's a new restaurant in Kuala Lumpur called Nasi Lemak Burung Hantu, really delicious!" he said enthusiastically.
The unexpected encounter not only amused the couple but also left netizens impressed with how quickly the man had picked up the Malay language, and developed a love for Malaysian food along the way.
