If you’re a fan of horror movies, 【Eerie】 is a really scary flick that you wouldn’t want to miss.
Starring Bea Alonzo, the film premiered at Singapore International Film Festival and received good feedback from the viewers.
When it was released in the Philippines, it has successfully grossed 2 billion peso (about RM 17 million) at the local box office. This thriller was then released on Netflix and, as expected, prompted a lot of reviews.
【Eerie】 takes place at Sta. Lucia Academy, a Catholic school for girls. When one of the students, Erika, died mysteriously in the school, counselor Pat Consolacion (Bea Alonzo) decides to investigate the unexpected death herself. In doing so, she uncovers the horrific truths of the school.
After watching the film, viewers take to social media to express how much it frightened them. As a result of the reviews, more horror fans are becoming interested in the film.
VIEWERS SLEEPING WITH LIGHTS ON
People are saying the film is so terrifying that they were too scared to switch off the light before they sleep for one whole week. Some also advised those who are interested in the film to watch it with a friend and not alone.
A Twitter user posted, “I have screamed 3 times in 20 minutes and there’s still 1 hour and 20 minutes left.”
Another said, “I’ve watched a lot of horror movies and my standards are set really high but this shook the f*** outta me.”
There are also praises coming from viewers despite the level of horror.
“Eerie is on Netflix. It is definitely one of the better horror movies I’ve seen recently. I feel it doesn’t really rely solely on the jump scares to make it scary, and when it does decide to use jump scares, there is a proper build-up that doesn’t just shock you,” says a Tweet.
Looks like Eerie is a really good horror from all the responses of the viewers.
But how will the story unfold? You’ll have to find it out yourself on Netflix!
