Malaysia's 68th National Day celebration unfolded in a vibrant display of patriotism and unity this morning, drawing thousands of eager spectators to the heart of the federal administrative capital.
Many had arrived well before the break of dawn some as early as 11pm the night before staking out prime spots along the boulevards of Putrajaya. Families, equipped with folding chairs, picnic mats, and umbrellas, settled in for what has become the nations most anticipated annual spectacle.
According to MalayMail, free shuttle services provided by Prasarana helped smooth the journey for reveller's from near and far, as crowds steadily built through the early morning hours.
Excitement reached a crescendo as federal dignitaries began to make their entrances. But it was the arrival of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, that drew the loudest applause. At around 8:15am, His Majesty made a memorable entrance personally driving a royal blue Proton Satria Neo R3 with the iconic WWW1 licence plate, accompanied by his consort, Raja Zarith Sofiah.
A Royal Salute (Hormat Diraja) greeted the Kings arrival, followed by an inspection of the Guard of Honour. The patriotic spirit deepened as the national anthem Negaraku rang out, with the Jalur Gemilang hoisted high to the thunderous sound of ceremonial cannon fire.
The grand start to this years National Day and Malaysia Day 2025 parade captured the nations pride and diversity, setting the tone for a day filled with celebration, remembrance, and unity.
